2025 Subaru Legacy

2025 Legacy for sale in MA

Overview

The 2025 model year is significant for the Subaru Legacy sedan, as it marks the final production of the automaker’s largest four-door. Subaru is sending the Legacy off in style by packing the mid-level Limited trim with first-rate extras, including a power moonroof and a heated steering wheel. Meanwhile, the 2025 Subaru Legacy remains the only midsized sedan with standard all-wheel drive (AWD). In addition, the Legacy, the company’s longest-running nameplate still in production, continues to offer multiple trims and a pair of Boxer engines, enabling buyers to zero in on the version that best meets their needs.

Trims and Powertrains

The 2025 Legacy is all about choice with five trim options: Base, Premium, Limited, Sport, and Touring XT. Powering the Base, Premium, and Limited editions is an efficient 182-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine. With opposing cylinders, this engine design provides a lower center of gravity (for improved handling) and is well suited for use with an AWD drivetrain. The Sport and Touring XT trims take that Boxer power to the next level with a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine that produces a brisk 260 horsepower. Both engines are connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that manages the standard all-wheel-drivetrain. The trims with the 2.5-liter engine have been determined by the EPA to achieve 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The fuel economy estimates for the turbo engine change to 23 mpg around town and 31 mpg on the open road.

Standard Features

The Base trim goes beyond the essentials with single-zone automatic climate control, fabric upholstery, LED steering-responsive headlights with automatic on/off, a USB port, and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Upgrades are the name of the game for the Premium, including the All-Weather Package (heated front seats and side mirrors and a windshield wiper de-icer), dual-zone automatic climate control, a ten-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, an additional front-row USB port, dual second-row USB ports, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle.

The Legacy Limited takes on upscale features, like leather seating surfaces, a power moonroof, a heated steering wheel, a 12-way power driver’s seat with enhanced lumbar and thigh support, a driver’s memory system, an eight-way power front passenger seat, heated rear outboard seats, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, LED fog lights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Sport expands its roster of attributes with athletic elements such as a sport-tuned suspension, two-tone fabric upholstery, LED fog lights, dual exhausts, aluminum pedal covers, a trunk spoiler, unique exterior accents, and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. This trim also gets proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Legacy range is capped by the Touring XT, which builds on the Limited’s features by adding Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and automatic power-folding side mirrors.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Subaru EyeSight, a collection of advanced driver-assistance features, is standard across the Legacy range. It includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure and sway warning with lane departure prevention, adaptive cruise control with lane centering, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, and automatic emergency steering are optional on the Premium and included with the higher grades. A driver distraction mitigation system and reverse automatic braking are standard in the Limited and above. The Touring XT also gets a 180-degree front-view monitor.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Starlink Infotainment system for the 2025 Legacy comes through dual 7-inch touchscreens in the Base trim and an 11.6-inch touchscreen in the Premium and above. Both arrangements are enhanced with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth. Navigation is included with the Limited and Touring XT and optional on the Premium. Audio is delivered through four speakers in the Base, six in the Premium, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon system in the Limited and above. All trims except the Base have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and Subaru connected services for emergency assistance, remote access, and other features.
