Subaru Legacy: a Dependable Sedan
This midsize sedan offers a comfortable ride, all-wheel drive, and two four-cylinder powertrain options: 2.5-liter and 2.4-liter turbocharged. For 2023, the Legacy gets a refreshed exterior design, a new infotainment system, and a few upgrades. The addition of a Sport trim package is interesting because it shows that Subaru executives appreciate the interest that the street-tuning scene has paid to the Legacy for decades. The Limited trim adds features such as a panoramic sunroof and Harman Kardon audio. The Touring XT adds a turbocharged engine plus other performance features.
Subaru Impreza: an Everyday Performance Car
With the Impreza, you get a nice balance of comfort, practicality, and driving enjoyment. The car's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system delivers excellent traction in all weather conditions, and its Subaru BOXER® engine delivers smooth performance. There are three trim packages for this four-door hatchback: Base, Sport, and RS. Although the highly responsive 2.0-liter BOXER® can easily generate 152 horsepower, the Impreza RS is equipped with an even more powerful 2.5-liter engine capable of delivering 182 horsepower. You can choose between manual and automatic transmissions.
Subaru WRX: Rally Inspired
This is the car that dominated the World Rally Championship in the mid-1990s, and it later became a favorite model in racing video games such as the Gran Turismo series. The WRX is built on the Impreza platform, but its 2.4-liter engine is turbocharged to generate 271 horsepower. The exterior of the WRX has been redesigned with a higher and wider stance in addition to a more prominent intake scoop. The trim levels start with the Base WRX and culminate with the competition-ready WRX GT equipped with rally upgrades such as Recaro racing seats, paddle-shifting performance transmission, push-button traction control, variable torque distribution, and a smart dynamics control system.
Subaru BRZ: Backroad Beast
The BRZ is a touring car designed for pure driving enjoyment. The car's rear-wheel drive layout and low center of gravity provide excellent handling. The lightweight chassis platform of the BRZ, which has been designed as a blueprint for the next generation of touring cars, makes it easy to handle on winding roads. The BRZ power plant is a Subaru BOXER® 2.4-liter engine capable of generating 228 horsepower and plenty of torque for spirited driving. One feature that is unique to the BRZ is its Torsen slip differential system, which is specifically tuned for touring. In terms of styling, the two-door BRZ looks like a cross between a roadster and a muscle car.
Subaru Technology and Safety Features
The Subaru STARLINK® infotainment system is standard across the Impreza, WRX, and BRZ; its 6.5-inch touchscreen can be upgraded to an eight-inch multimedia display. The standard six-speaker audio system can be upgraded to a Harman Kardon premium package.
As for advanced safety, the Subaru EyeSight® system provides standard features such as pre-collision braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and smart lane-keeping assistance.
