Trims and Powertrain
The Trailseeker’s debut will be packaged in a trio of trims called Premium, Limited, and Touring. Its powertrain will pair front and rear electric motors yielding a combined 375 horsepower; Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive will come standard. Front and rear acceleration sensors will enable the Trailseeker to automatically allocate power to the most appropriate wheels, adjusting for optimal cornering, braking, and acceleration control. Dual-function X-MODE (with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes) will also be included, along with Grip Control and Downhill Assist Control, for enhanced stability on and off pavement.
The Trailseeker’s 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery is expected to provide an estimated 260-mile range. It will be rejuvenated from 10 to 80 percent capacity in as little as 35 minutes via fast charging. A North American Charging Standard (NACS) port will make it compatible with an extensive nationwide network of charging stations. New England’s Subaru die-hards will be pleased to know that the battery will have an onboard preconditioning system to enhance fast-charging performance in cold weather.
